Re: Poll: Is blocking of ads dishonest?

I think that users have a very "tit for tat" implicit agreement with the websites they visit. Most users don't want to be evil, and don't want to take anything from their service providers that seems deserved. But the providers have to be careful, because the minute a user feels like they're being shirked on the tat, the user's gonna give a little less tit. If that makes any sense. The provider has to give more value than they take, and advertising is a value subtraction in most cases.

HttpOnly, gee it'd be so nice. Unfortunately, it just doesn't mean much unless you can guarantee that your users use conforming browsers =(

So...what does "is blocking of ads dishonest" mean? Dishonest to whom? Because of a TOS?
